• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Bsharp's 03 LE

So I'm adding these next pics of ways that I have tried to entertain myself... I am sick of winter.
First is a pic of my scanguage after using the performance data doohickey, I know it's not accurate but interesting to me nonetheless. I've also decided I live to far into the suburbs, as I was annoyed by the distance it took to find a "back-road."

Next is a pic of my LE parked by a 40th at the grocery store. I was hoping the owner would come out while I was there, guess I am too efficient at shopping.

Then we've got my little plastidip experiment, I know it's cheap and not going to last especially the way I did it, but I gave it a whirl and it entertained me for an afternoon. I do not really care for the 15 spoke wheel, but am too cheap (would rather spend money on other things) to buy any other wheels. I have also not put them on yet as I know the plastidip is going to peel almost immediately and I want to wait until it isn't going to snow for a few days, so I can enjoy them a little while before they are destroyed by a car wash.

And lastly, because of my plastidip experiment, I've put my Bonne summer wheels on the Grand Prix. The Ecopia tires actually do better in the snow than the half wore-out GY Assurance that I've had on. I think the Bonne wheels look really weird, but they might look okay if I plastidipped them on the Grand Prix.

Also on an unrelated note, I've managed to find 93 octane and it's taken care of most of my KR, but I've also just bought some 1.9 rockers. Waiting for them to show up, then I'll do a tune with them on 91 octane so I can fill up at most any station around here

Thanks. I guess I've written enough term papers that it is somewhat automatic. If I were to go back and look at the post however, I know that I could find some conventions that need attention.

We've all been there at one point or another. However, the abundance of bad grammar online astonishes me.

It's really not that hard and as a result of being exposed to it constantly, I've acquired an appreciation for proper grammar.

Let's be honest - poor grammar on a forum makes one look childish and it's often difficult to take them seriously. I'm sorry, I'm kind of a dick.

With all of this being said, and for the sake of keeping your thread on track, I'd like to say that this is a nice car with a ton of potential.

I also saw you were interested in retrofitting. If you have any questions about it, PM me and I'll be able to help you out. There are not a lot of things I'm good at - retrofitting knowledge (not so much application) may very well be the only thing.

Thanks for the offer of help on the retrofits. I've picked up some headlights, but got ahead of myself and didn't actually look at the price of the projectors before hand. The stock headlights of the Grand Prix suck. I've spend most of my life living in rural areas and I can definitively say that the headlights on my Bonneville are spectacular when compared to those of the Grand Prix. That's my motivation for the retrofits, but I don't have the cash for that right now either. One thing at a time.
Other than that, my plans this week for the car include possibly picking up some injectors in the next 12 months and try E85, at least at the track, as well as getting the GMPP Handling Kit and a second strut bar for the back. I'd also like to get the windows tinted as dark as I can go in MN.
It seems that everyone thinks their cars need to be lower, but I'd like to maybe only drop 1/2 inch and get rid of the tail sag that these W-bodies have. I like having the ground clearance to get through a bit of snow and not worry about bottoming out over every speed bump and parking lot entrance.
I'd also like some different wheels, haven't made up my mind about those yet.

So there is my rant with some rational about what I'd like to do with my car, this week.

plasit dip its pretty strong ive been through the czar wash and a michigan winter and have never had them chip

I taped off the edge of the rim to leave some of the chrome showing and when I pulled the tape off it pulled some of it up a bit at the edges. Also, nothing sticks well to chrome.

There not chrome there polished aluminum, you can't tape off plasti dip it's not paint it's a rubber coating

Put the 40th rims on! NOW!
What's the matter, you don't like the Bonne wheels on there? Me neither. Maybe on Wednesday, after the roads have dried a bit after this next snow fall; the 10 day forcast makes it look dry after that.
trick is to pull the tape off after yu layed the coats on, while its still wet.
if its dry it rips, easy fix with a razor blade
I was wondering about taking it off while it's still wet (this was my first try with the stuff); I did end up using a blade and it helped, but there are still spots that are going to peel really quickly.

So I put 15 spoke Limited Edition wheels back on and took some poor quality night pictures. I also installed some new rotors and painted my calipers silver. Back when I was buying parts for my header build, I needed something like $5 more in order to get free shipping so I bought some caliper paint. I also installed some hawk brake pads. They bite really well.

I have also installed my 1.9 rockers. My seat 'o pants meter didn't notice, but when I ran the scan gauge performance option there was a nice improvement.

Two weeks until I get to take it to the track; I'm excited.
