• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Re: help after cam install :(

ok smart ass :p haha for real i need to get this taken car of so i can tune it and get it running good. i hope its jsut the flex plate bolts. what do they torque down to?

Re: help after cam install :(

No, it's fine... Nicks an end of worlder.,.,.

I have never bought new ones and done hundreds of swaps,.

Re: help after cam install :(

well i jsut got done with my car. I checked the flex plate bolts and they were all tight. With the stethascope it sounds like its coming fromt eh cam areas. aka... flex plate or timing chain. between there... and now it makes the grinding noise at idle.

Re: help after cam install :(

aka flex plate and timing chain area...those are on opposite ends of the motor brah.

Cam area is still by the timing chain...so...go pull off the front cover

Re: help after cam install :(

bill and nick talked it over in the chat. they said it sounded like the crank sensor guard rubbing the balancer.

or you need to tighten your rocker bolts again.

Re: help after cam install :(

does grinding = high frequency tapping? like a rocker is loose? and a pushrod is bent?

Re: help after cam install :(

nick did look at it duhhhh.

no grinding means rub rub rub of 2 thigns lolol. Im just saying this does not sound like plastic
