• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Bronco Boy's 2002 GT

Update time....

1) The front bra has been removed.

2) Replaced the right front wheel bearing, again.

I now have aftermarket cv shafts, so I had to retire the 36mm socket for a new 34mm socket.

No more growling hub. YAY!

3) Replaced the left front ABS wiring harness. I cut the harness back a few feet; about 6-8" from the front crossmember.

ABS_Harness_008.JPG

No more ABS and TRAC lights lit up on the dash. YAY!

4) Installed new front speakers. Bought these from a co-worker years ago. Might as well throw them in.

I didn't install the tweeters; they would require some custom work to make them fit, AND, one had a wire torn out of it.

5) Wired up the door-panel lights so they actually work. LED's from Oznium.

Final assembly. I made some mounting plates out of plastic and glued them together.

Wiring harness for the front door, light assembled with electrical connector. The extra extension is for future door handle lighting.

Wired to the vehicle. I made an adapter that plugs into the dome light socket so no need to hack wiring in this one.

Replaced the left front wheel bearing.....again!

Replaced the crapped out rear speakers. Had some JVC's lined up, but there is a height restriction due to the deck lid cover thingy, so ended up with these:

What brand was the hub you replaced?

were those delco hubs around 140?

I did both front abs harnesses this weekend with the delco brand. More expensive I know but they were stout.
I bought a nice shrink wrap assortment from Amazon with a 3:1 shrink ratio with adhesive in it....came in mighty handy.

It was SKF, originally installed April 2014.

Yup, $135 CDN. They have a 5 year warranty up here, which is why I started using them.

Nice. The Dorman kit came with some ok shrink tube, but I used my own, with some di-electric grease to keep things proper.

Spruced up the wheels today.

The center caps I've been using; they are peeling and in need of some love.

Extra caps I had laying around.

Overlays from Reflective Concepts.

Caps cleaned and overlays applied.

A nice subtle change.

My trunk light is an LED strip, but my alarm turns it off after 45 seconds, and that leaves me in the dark when un-loading the trunk at night. I bought a Truxedo B-light, which is powered by 3 AA batteries, manual on/off, and shuts off after 5 minutes. I didn't want to run any wires, so this will work perfectly for me. I lengthened the wires a bit, ran them inside the trunk lid with the other factory wiring, mounted the switch box on the lower right of the trunk lid and the LED strip up in behind the latch, firing straight down.....

Was looking for some parts for another project, when I stumbled across this fire extinguisher.....

I seem to recall this being a xmas present from last year. Might as well put it in the car.....

Looks good. Should have been standard issue for every GP. Haha
Thanks. GM issued fire extinguisher... I like. LOL

The main reason I installed it is that we have so many forest fires in the province right now (been hot and dry for months), and one problem is people tossing cigarette butts out the window and starting (small) fires. Had a few last week on my way to and from work, and I'd hate to be in a position to put it out, but have no extinguisher. Now I am prepared. :)

Rotated the dog bones.

Replaced the battery; went dead in the mall parking lot.

Replaced a dirty cabin filter:

Replaced a dead washer pump:

Finally scored some '04+ seats.....

One cut on the drivers seat. Will get this fixed:

Got the fronts installed. The passenger side dropped right in. The drivers side, I had to move the wiring connector from the old seat so it matched the car:

Went for a drive later; way more comfortable and supportive. You sit about an inch higher, which will take some getting used to. The seat belts don't connect without a little jiggling and wiggling. This is already getting annoying.

pretty sure the buckles unbolted from the seat frame in my regal. theres the seat belt light wire runs up the plastic sheath there.
