broken pass key 3 module

I was replacing my ignition switch and i was taking the old switch out when the passkey exciter module broke. This is the black ring that goes around the lock cylinder. can i just get a new module or do i have to get a new cylinder.


I know that i need to get it programmed after installing this. any help is greatly appreciated.
 


no you will have to have the dealer do that, if you were trying to learn a second key yes. but you cant sicne the ring that reads the keys is broken
 
when i broke mine dong my radio, i just put it back together with the used one from Ed Morad and i went to try the relearn, and it didn't need it, it started right up and i never had problems

you got a new cylinder with the passlock 3 and it worked without programming?
 
yea i just took apart the cylinder (be careful) and got the passlock ring off and put it on mine and stuck my key in and the car started on the first turn
 
okay thanks thats a load off. I found a cylinder at the junkyard for 65 it should come with the ring right? at least i would think so.

Thanks again for all the help, im so stressed that this happened. but i guess thats what happens when you dont have a manual and just jump into things lol
