Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

We have a 96 gp se with the damn 3.1 v6. apparently the head gasket was blown and took out the middle cam bearings and snapped the cam. also had a bent push rod. why only that stuff i dunno but what i want to know is why this particular year is so hard and expensive to rebuild or replace. what is the difference from this to any other gp engine. next question. what does it consist of to swap a 96 boniville 3.8 supercharged engine into this car. cuz its prolly going to get scraped or that engine cuz the 3.1 is too expensive for what it is. would appreciate any help on this. its 'her' car and shes driving my truck because of it. im still in shock that she snapped the cam!

you don't hear that stuff very often, wow. as for the 3800 swap, you'd need a decent amount of fab work from what i've read, including custom made half shafts/cv axles or whatever you want to call them. you don't see it very often. the 3.1 was kinda common i thought, but i can agree with the too expensive part, there wasn't anything special about it. if you're looking at stepping up performance, a 3400 is an easier swap.

Actually 3100s have hollow crankshafts from the factory so its not too suprising you snapped it if you had the stock cam with performance parts on it. Same goes for 3400 motors in Grand Ams..... found it out the hard way...... Once they break you usually gotta replace the block cuz it tears it up.
