Brightest bulbs for headlight replace?

I replaced my headlight bulbs on my 98 GP GT a couple years ago but they still seem dim. What is the BRIGHTEST bulb to replace the one there now? I do not want to do any electrical mods, just find the brightest bulb to change myself - thanks!

Or there is a brand called Halo that makes bulbs cheaper than the Silverstars and you get a color selection. They sell em on ebay i used them in my old car and they were pretty bright. Im also looking at new headlight bulbs as well

There ****ty bulbs. I use them for my fogs, only for color. I get no output from them.

you are never going to be happy with the output in the stock headlight housings. The only alternative is doing a retro fit into your stock housing. You can put all the bulbs you want that claim to be the brightest and such but its not going to change the fact that the reflector sucks. Even plug and play hid's suck for our cars. Dont let anyone fool you on this, ive been doing this for years. I did a retro fit into my housings with rx-330 projectors/300zx clear lens swap it is awesome. Check out hidplanet.com and they will school your woes for sure.

The HID install looks easy on the demo for 9007-2 conversion kit. Think I will give that a try. Opinions? Seems popular on this forum. Standard kit.

HIDs will be the brightest. If you want to take advantage of light output then retroffited projectors or even the spyder auto projectors with HIDs would be a nice upgrade. If you want to keep halogens then any bulb with a blue coating will limit light output. You will need to use the one's with a clear lens on them like the GE nighthawks, philips xtreme etc. You could pair them with a harness to get more voltage to the bulbs from the battery. You could also try higher wattage halogen bulbs with a relay harness.

I went ahead and bought the kit shown below from VVWD as per the recommendations on several threads - thanks I'll let you know how the install goes - if I can do it, anyone can!

1 x Standard 9007-3 Bi-Xenon HID Kit (VVME-HKBIX-973) = $58.99
Color Temp. 6000K

So, this kit will give you hi and lo beams, still and will be brighter than the Sylvania Ultra? I'm also interested in this since the stock output seems poor to me, compared to the mini sealed beams of our '93 GP. Please do post back and let us know about installation and how they compare.
