• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Breakthrough in 2006+ PCM tuning

Oh yes, I will be contacting you very soon!! I have an 07 i want to mod alittle. It's basically stock right now... the PO installed some iridium NGK plugs, and msd wires, and the car may have a lower degree thermostat. I want to pulley down one size from stock and get your tune. With your tune, will I have to do exhaust work because of the smaller pulley or am i safe for awhile?

I should be receiving my 08 pcm tomorrow afternoon, I'll check in after my first few runs with it... cant wait.

Trying to write a fixed ratio maf transltor table from scratch is not easy... I luckily never had to...

Make sure you scale injectors against the maf as well... you should be spoofing the injectors to maximize maf resolution.

Yeah but it was like SO much faster when it came back than when it left. That was actually a fun challenge, to tune a heads/cam/T67 Turbo car with an 82% AFC and 80# injectors and dial in the LT trims, have actual AFR match commanded AFR and all safely set up to allow the owner to dial in the tune himself from there and all within 1 hour.

vailskier3, what BCM issues are you having? Are you sure they're related to your 05 PCM?

i'm pretty sure they are because i can't use the 05 pcm's vin and it's causing issues. it could be something else, but i have lost my remote start (not a huge deal, but it'd be nice to have it back if i could), whenever i use the key to unlock the car (like when i drive somewhere and go for a run and take just the key with me) the alarm goes off.

those are pretty much the only issues i've had with it. oh, and i randomly get ses lights, but after i clear them, they don't come back...

here is the list that shows up:

[PCM] P2432 - Secondary Air Injection System Air Flow/Pressure Sensor Circuit Low (Pending) (Old) (History) (Current) (Immature)
[Unknown] B3948 - (History) (Current) (Immature)
[Unknown] B3949 - (History) (Current) (Immature)

Just wanted to update this thread with my own experience, as it may affect others.

I ordered my pcm from Will and, unfortunately the pcm would not even start the car. I spoke to Will about it and he did some research.

Although all pcms 2004-2007 are Delphi, some 2008's are Delphi and some 2008's are AC Delco. My stock pcm, unfortunately is AC Delco. According to what Will found, the AC Delcos, as of now, will not program and are different from the Delphi pcm's in some way that will not allow them to be interchangable. This means that cars with the AC Delco computer stock cannot be tuned as of now. Cars with a delphi pcm are fine, so check before you order, it will save a lot of headache. There is a label on the underside of the pcm that will say either AC Delco or Delphi.

As of now, Will is working on the problem to create a way of reading the AC Delco pcm and hopefully go on to be able to tune them and have them work in the cars. He didnt make any promises, however, he seems to be somewhat of a wonder with a tuner, so I personally have faith that SOMEDAY (hopefully soon!) my car will feel the power unleashed with an Overkill tune.

Now... Im gunna go sit in the corner and wait.. and maybe cry a little..

The only real big tuning thing you are looking for is probably just going to be creature comforts.. There is not a huge power gain from tuning that you couldnt get elsewhere.

Now if you were doing large upgrades or changes, tuning is important... but there are plenty of ways around it using other tools (afc, pulley swap, etc).

it seems to me that everyone would rather have overkill's tunes than anyone else's? will they work in my '06 l67? i just dont want my car to be jacked up if i installed one.

Will's 06+ tune with the corrected fuel gauge is locked to protect his work.

Being that it seems he's the only one who's figured it out, that's understandable
