Brake pads and shoes.

What brands and types of pads have your guys and girls been using on the comp G and GXP's. aka ceramic or semi-metallic, GM, Green-stuff, hawk,
AND does anyone know how close the Comp G brakes and GXP brakes are?
 


I got the GM Durastop semi metalic pads on mine. Mainly for the reason that for GM Pads they are pretty cheap, and they stop on a dime. Yeah, they make a lot of dust, but I"m not totally about beautification.....Brakes are worth every penny you spend on them, and if a dirty old semi metallic will stop better than ceramic and I can afford it? I'm gonna go with the dirty brakes every time.

I have, however, heard great things about the Hawk Ceramic pads. I just never dropped the coin on them.
 
I still enjoying my Posi Quiet pads I got with R1 Rotors. They are ceramic, and have minimal dust if any. And like Brian's, they stop on a dime as well. And they are farely inexpensive as well. You can find sets of them on eBay pretty easily.

I just can't see spending over 50-60 dollars on a good set of pads that are just going to wear out. The Durastops and Posi Quiets will offer you the same amount of stopping power and won't cut into your purse strings :)
 
When I done my brakes a couple months ago, I done the front and back at the same time with Duralast Cmax pads. THEY SUCK. I cant stand them, they dont have any bite at all and are not as low dusting as I thought they would be. I have been seriously thinking about going back to the Performance Friction pads or the stockers. I just hate wasting money like that, but I like a little bite to the brakes. I dont know, tax time is coming, but I would rather take the money and put it towards something else. The Raybestos Quiet stop brakes are very overpriced and not that good either. I guess I am just not a fan of Ceramic.
 
I've never been impressed with the Delco ceramic pads either. Had them for a little while, and a couple of high speed stops made them glaze so bad I ended up almost standing on the pedal.
 
i know i wont use and duralast product. but thats me. i like the stock pads they seem good. I was thinking hawk or EBC
