Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Re: To Plasti Dip or not to Plasti dip that is the question

Working on the GTP gave me some idea's especially trolling junk yards so I am going to order carpets I think from some web site like
GMC Sierra 1500 Auto Carpet Replacement | GMC Sierra 1500 Auto Carpets | Interior GMC Sierra 1500 Automotive Carpeting At 1A Auto and then roll through all the local Junk Yards to find seats door panel etc, you cant tell by looking at it but I do love my truck lol....
side question does anyone know what all has to be done to make 04+ rear seats fit in the 97-03 models? I am in love with TexasTankers front seats and know I have to switch mine out soon, but dont know if I should be looking for back seats out of the same car or if I should try to find some out of a 97-03 model....

Re: To Plasti Dip or not to Plasti dip that is the question

Don't dip the whole car. You'll regret it. Unless you do black..

I did my old mustang Orange, lasted a month. peeled it off. Dirt stuck to it and wouldn't wash off for poop. $400 down the drain.

Re: To Plasti Dip or not to Plasti dip that is the question

I am thinking black lol so that will work... The. Again lambo green or whatever they call it looks interesting..... J/k

null_zpsc138722f.jpg

got the first nut off the power steering line no problems but the second one is being a pain in the rear. Did a bit of research and great I have to drop the subframe, so moved the jack stands that were on the subframe to gm's silly jack points and grabbed some wood... I read that you need one 4x4 but what about three 2x4s? Gonna be scarey but I am going to go for it lol

probably tomorrow morning so if any one thinks this is a terrible idea to ahead and post so lol. Otherwise it's going down in the morning. Also if I die... Mike take what you need for parts lol

Re: Power steering discombobulation!!!

Lol, I know I have seen it before but I can't find it today.... Looking for a pic of where to put the wood for support and also what to attach to on engine

Re: Power steering discombobulation!!!

I just finished putting a rack on my wife's 00 GTP. you don't have to drop the entire subframe. Just the rear two bolts. Be sure to flush the lines!
Put the car on jackstands in the front and use the jack to lower the rear of the subframe.
Also it looks like either the pump shaft seal or the line oring is leaking.

Re: Power steering discombobulation!!!

. I dont want to drop the whole subframe. just the back so i can get a wrench in there. anyone know if i can do that with everything still attached? just a block of wood across the oil/trans pan? I got a whole new line so that plus a new o-ring hopefully will get me strait.... Hopefully if not I am sure it original on the car and could probably use the switch out, hope it's not the pump I am hella broke and can't buy and more parts right now

Re: Power steering discombobulation!!!

I put my Jack on the drivers side of the frame beside the transmission about halfway back. I wouldn't put it on the trans or oil pan.
Drop it down about 2-3" and go to work.
No need to undo anything other than two bolts in the frame and rack parts. Be sure to change the other line oring at the rack. Goodluck man.

Re: Power steering discombobulation!!!

I was sitting there is a puddle of greese power steering fluid and who knows what else thinking about reattaching the tire and pushing the car over a cliff when I saw a very sad and demolished rubber remnints of a o-ring in the puddle.... Then I looked at the new power steering line, it had an o-ring then I looked at the old line hanging half off the car and it did not have an o-ring, then everything kinda clicked, so thank you you twizted 1 for mentioning it. I jammed an o-ring on and chilled her up and no leak, with new excitement and motivation I got to work on the cv boot and promptly cut through the retainer ring and down into the axel.... Wtf I have no luck so I packed up the power steering line, the cv boot and the now ruined cv axel and went to autozone, they refunded me for said non needed parts, took my ruined core and sold me me a cv axel and used my rewards points and I actually got like 2 dollars back lol, took 20 mins to instal and hurray me the car is moving and grooving again, now for this whole registration thing lol
