Bose stereo problem

I own a 2003 GTP great car and until recently the stereo was great as well. The amp that runs teh BOSE stero has been causinng me greif, I have power to teh wiring harness, I have checked for shorts using a multi meter and have by apst the amp direct to a speaker and get sound yet when I plug in the amp I do not get any sound. I have tried three different amps from local wreckers and none have worked. Have I purchased three bum amps or am I over looking something? Has any one had a similar problem?:

the GM bose systems are a mess...OK when they are working but other than that you should bring it to a stereo shop and let them install you a new headunit (alpine, clarion etc..) I have no idea how to help with the stock amp as i have never been able to find a proper wiring diagram for any bose system....
