Bose speakers

Mirraco

One BadAzz GT Dawgg
i got these bose speakers in my 01 gt, i had two alpine type rs in the trunk and succeeded in blowing both my 6x9 speakers in the rear, i believe they are blown, crackles when i turn it up, still bumps a bit, but really noticed it when the system was still in the car.

long story short, i blew the amp it started smoking on my system, was a hifonics, and ended up getting a new alpine amp so ill be putting system back in the car next week, i would like to remove the 04+ seats in the rear and put new(used) bose speakers, my real question is this:

Alot of cars came with the bose option, what models/years can i look for to get them out of, they are about 60$ for ones out of a 99 bonne which im positive will work, well pretty sure. I know the 97-03 grand prix bose speakers will work no problem, but i seen acura, corvette, bonne ones all for sale, and really just curious before i spend 60$ when i could get them out of a totaled car for less than 20$ I can remove them no problem, well just takes a little time each car has a different way to get to the speakers, the grand prixs are a pain the butt.

Just want to know what models/years i can get them out of. I dont want to tear all the speakers and wires out just to put aftermarket ones in that will blow in the same amount of time, ive been there done that with my 00 prix and blew the aftermarket ones in about 2 weeks.

Honestly I prefer to just bypass the bose crap and just run straight speakers. Good quality aftermarket speakers will last YEARS. If you insist on running bose then literally any gm installed bose 6x9 will work.

I'd have to agree with frosty and say to stay away from Bose if you can, they just aren't very well made anymore. If you know the resistance of the Bose speakers, just about any equally sized aftermarket speaker with the same resistance will work fine and probably take more abuse. I enjoy Infinity Reference speakers for budget builds, and I have their Kappa line, but the tweeters can be a bit loud. As long as you stay away from brands like Sony, Dual, Boss, etc, then you'll be fine.
