Hello I have a quick question hopefully it's undestandable lol how do I remove the standard Bose system amp and two speakers how do I do it and will radio still run speakers that I leave or what exactly? Lol thanks...

Not sure what you are asking exactly

the bose amp receives a signal from the head unit and if was removed your speakers would not work, all speakers in car are powered by the bose amp. Its a wiring harness mess. Someone will hopefully post a link but most people just rewire everything if they want to remove the bose amp or in 04+ monsoon amp because it is just easier to start from scratch

Thanks lol to shorten story basically I'm ridding of my prix but I want the whole audio system just need some input on how too thanks. For your input...

Is it possible to add the bose sound system to my car? Or are thwy crap.. Are there any factory type upgrades I could do to my car? I wouldn't mind to upgrade my headunit but I don't want to loose thw headsup display.. so what options do I have

I already replaced the speakers..

Don't waste your time the bose set up has a pita wire set up go after market

You will not loose hud with a new headunit

What kind of speakers did you put in

I honestly don't remember... I think sony explode.. but not sure. They weren't terribly expensive..

I thought you lost the radio display on the hud?

What's about a factory replacement head unit? Is there anything better I can put in?

I really like those touch screen radio, but not sure if it would fit..

Oh yes they stations and shizz you will lose I thought you were talking the whole thing in general

What factory head unit do you have?? the one with just the bass/treble sliders or the factory 7 band equalizer one??
I have had the bass/treble one, an aftermarket sony one, and the 7 band equalizer one in my car. The 7 band one was my favorite because you can tune the sound pretty good but both the factory ones are very under powered if you just have the standard 6 speaker audio set up (no delco or bose amp). I also have the four bose speakers and the special rear deck piece in my 2000 se which is kinda cool just cuz se's didn't come with the 8 speaker set up. If I actually wired them correctly it would be a pretty good set up.

Anywhoo the best way to go if you like loud is aftermarket, prolly a pioneer or a sony

97-03 are 1.5 din, most touch screens are double din so without modifying your dash it wont fit, several people have done the modding though

your best bet would be aftermarket headunit and speakers, and wire the speakers to the headunit, dont use the factory wiring. its not impossible to put wire through the rubber door boots, but it does suck. i thought about replacing my speakers but the thing is. it looks like i have 2 in the front (doors) 2 tweeters in the door triangle thing near the window(at least they look exactly like the tweeters in my stepdads lightning with the bose factory system), and while climbing in the trunk the other day i saw i had 4 speakers in the back deck, 2 on each side. im not messing with 8 speakers unless something terrible happens.

Yes I have the stereo with the 7band slide equalizer.. I'm not sure but I think it might be on its way out.. if I hit a hardbump the cd will skip.. and it seems like the tones of the sound change depending on the volume.. hard to pinpoint..

I'd really like that touch screen... any pictures of the end result of someone that made it fit

theres a thread in here where a few people have put a double din in, when its time for me to upgrade everything thats the route im going

When mine started skipping i trashed it. Went to a salvage yard and bought a headunit with a casette deck, and than bought the 12 disc changer that came with it. Added some after market 6x9s' and it sounds pretty good. No more skipping.

Was that hard to add the 12 disc? I was always curious but never got to it and got my 06 before I went that route

installing it was a piece of cake. The hardest part was having to remove the back seat and a lot of other crap to run the cable from the head unit to the trunk. If anyone reading this is thinking about doing it...take my advice and do what i should've done and buy you a cable for it. Because it'll take you forever to remove the old one from a car. Believe me it's in their tight! All kinds of tape and sh%! wrapped around it with wires breaking off in different directions.
