Boost shows 1 or 2 bars when accelerating normally

From time to time my boost gauge will show one or two bars when Im accelerating normally. Not on the pedal or anything
Does anyone know what could cause this and is this a problem or need tuned?

get a real boost gauge and actually see what it is doing. your boost gauge in the DIC is strictly for show and you absolutely cannot use it to diagnose problems.

It is, but chances it's showing something going on. If it's showing a bar or two, it means the MAP sensor is seeing something. I've never seen it flip out for no reason.

Going uphill in overdrive will cause this. Any medium acceleration in OD will create positive boost pressure. The lower the engine speed, the more likely you will use boost. Maybe you could be more specific about saying "accelerating normally".

ya that's more of a user specific statement. Hell one of my friends with a GTP's "normal acceleration" is to fill half the boost bar.
