cat is brand new.... could it be my control module....changed out coils since i thought it might be coils........

Found the thread...

I would start by changing plugs and checking wires. What plugs are you using right now and what gap? What mods do you have on the car?

You could also unplug the BBV, it will restrict the boost to below 5psi and see if the problem persists.

Whoa... I just saw your running a 3.25" pulley and K&N filter...

That is not a safe pulley size at all with those mods. That size of pulley would require a cam or intercooler, headers, intake and some tuning to run safely. You should go back to the stock pulley. You could have a chipped piston thats causing the issues now.

The more and more I read that I remember when I bought my GTP and I was reading that. Honestly I had a CAI, PCM, plugs/wires and a 160* and installed my 3.5" and I still had KR...

Think about your car.

You have a intake. And the pulley on my car that I run with a cam, headers, custom tune, and MANY other mods...you are running on yours. I don't mean to be blunt but don't be like every other noob modding a L67 powered car. I've lost 2 motors to KR. FOR YOUR CAR'S SAKE...put a stock pulley on or prepare for boom. I hope you have money lying around for another motor.

At least we found the issue. It stops accelerating because of all the knock it gets when it hits boost. :th_shakinghead1:

Sorry I had too...

When you pulled your plugs were they damaged? Bent or missing electrodes? IF not your motor MIGHT still be fine. Pull the plugs again...you might find a surprise now. Drain your oil and change your filter...if your plugs are fine then damnit...change it to a stock pulley. Your car will be faster AND it won't stop like it does now. The reason it does that is the PCM is pulling so much timing to keep the car running it is hurting you REALLY bad. If you still have your stock pulley re-install it. Your next step will be supporting mods. Headers or a Powerlog Front Manifold, 3" Downpipe with cat/no cat. U-Bend delete, 180* or 160* T-Stat, NGK TR55's, or Autolite 104's, and you might as well get some new plug wires because those stock-ish wires are probably shot by now...MSD 8.5mm wires, or PRJ 10.4mm ones.

Hope this helps you as you might be needing to know in the future after you see what is done internally to yours...

too much boost, too little flow. to run that small of a pulley you need headers and valvetrain work with an AWESOME tune. im running a 3.2 and i have nearly every bolt on part you can buy.

i dont think my pulley is 3.25 i think it is a 3.5 which was recommended with no mods..or atleast that wut i was told cuz it was workin fine for about 3 or 4 years... it might be another prloblem im still chkin ill give updates later

It is still too big for no mods. I'd still put on a 3.8" regardless. You don't know what size it is?!?!?! Measure it jesus.

AND a K&N doesn't count as a mod because it is worse then the stock intake.:th_shakinghead1:

F7 is your friend btw...

pulley is 3.5... spark plugs still look like new gap was alittle off fixed it though. goin for a test run.

how can i chk the vaccum on the s/c... ran alittle better after gap adjustment... aleast now the car peals out...lol. car seems to be shakin a bit when i floor it. remmoved bbv and car ran worse a poppin noise occured when acceleratin... any input???

3.5 is fine for a stock car, but id recommend getting some more flow mods on it to account for the extra air youre moving.

do not remove the BBV, you need that. by you saying that the car 'peels out' makes me think you drive it like a 14 year old. why would the gap have changes since you put the plugs in the car? the only way they would is if something broke and hit the plug, which would mean you either broke a valve or a piston or both. if that is the case then good job on running a smaller pulley on a stock car because you just blew up your motor.

time to start taking things apart and finding out what is wrong because im 99% sure you dont have a scanner to even guess at what is wrong.

nothing is wrong with engine. jus need to, think it isthat i need more ai mods. gonna put an exhaust that ive been hold off on. thinking 3.5 pipe with magnaflow. is it ok if i jus remove cat? o yea... scanner say random misfire...
