boost gauge doesn't light up

Hi Ive got a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Special Edition and I cant get my boost gauge to light up. It was like that when I bought it a few months ago, the guy said maybe it was a wiring problem. But when the light hits it just right I can see that the display and buttons are all working but it just wont light up. Just wasnt sure if it was a light in there or a fuse, you know just something stupid. Just thought that maybe someone else might have had the same problem as me and could save me some troubleshooting time. Also the HUD display flickers on and off most of the time (fading out and staying off for a while), haven't had time to mess with that either and wasnt sure if maybe that was related to the problem with the boost gauge.
 


the dimmer switch works cause I use it at night to dim my interior lights. Ihave had the dash apart and pulled out the boost gauge to make sure that everything was connected. the boost gauge has lighted up once since I've owned the car and it only worked for maybe 20 minutes, thats why I was thinking maybe it was some kind of a wire that was loose or broke maybe.
 
haha thanks I'll try using ALLDATA to see if they have a wiring diagram for the interior electrical maybe that'll help.
 


I have recently bought a 2000 grand prix gtp. I encountered the same issue have you found out what the problem is? if so it would help a lot becuase it does not seem very many people go through the same issue online.
