BLUEGTP91's BUILD...Page 25 has some vids :D

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!! *PICS Pg:7*

Gonna get it all painted too...yay...I've been slacking...and its finally warm and I wanna get this thing done.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!! *PICS Pg:7*

So...lets say NEXT weekend...f*ck TTY bolts and I'll be damned NO ONE stocks con rod bolts.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!! *PICS Pg:7*

I got ARP's from ZZP in a day a few weeks back. Hmmm go figure.

Right...but the rods have to be machined to work right with them and since I didn't have them at the time of install...I said screw it.

Oh really? what machining? says who?

I ask this as I had to do no machining work to mine. Outside of the bolt head there was no difference. Kinda curious to this "machining work" people say needs to be done.

Because if you change the bolts for the rods, you have to install the new bolts in the rods, torque to speck, and then have the rod bored.

In a nut shell, the different bolts will put a different squeeze on the rod and how it clamps, and can, and will almost always on our flimsy rods make the bore of the rod out of true/round. Think of it as making a perfectly true circle a slight oval or egg shaped...it will trash the bearings REALLY quick if you do not have them rebored with the new bolts being used. Its not enough to notice by the nakid eye, but measuring will never lie.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!! *PICS Pg:7*

and what if one did measure and found no difference?

The only problem I see with your logic is that the rod caps and rods are machined flat, so how am I going to egg these out? You can only tighten them so tight before you break the bolts or strip the threads. It takes a hell of a lot of force to compress metal.
