Blown up GTP, why by new when you can get USED

After buying a pre-modded 2001 GTP and sucussfuly chipping a bunch of pistons, I have bought a crate engine and am trying to do it right. I have learned alot from this forum, and ZZP! Decided to become a menmber and maybe share what I have learned from this experience. Anybodly who would like to comment on my ongoing bulid is more than welcome. I'm currently working on pieceing the longblock back togather now and going to a larger pully (3.4").
 


Do you know what caused the pistons to chip? Bad tune? Not enough mods to support the pulley they were running?
 
Hmmm, I thought when I put all that stuff in my profile, it would show up. 3.2" pully, pacesetter headers, custom no cat exaust, x-p cam, ZZP 1.0 PCM, K&N intake, 60 lb injectors, 5% OD balancer. ZZP had done the dyno tuning on it but after the scarey noises started I went through the paper work and noticed that it was tuned with a 3.4" pully. I got a crate engine from ZZP and had them strip off the performance parts and install them into the long block, and I got a 3.4" pulley to put on the S/C. I would have to guess it was an incorrect tune with not enough mods for the 3.2". Oh yeah, I also opted to go with the ZZP CNC heads.
