Just a thought, a seized motor could have drawn enough current to blow the resister, especially if the blower stops moving air to cool it. Some parts stores will take returns on electronics. If any of yours do, pick a resister pack ($50-$80) and see if it cures your problem.
I suppose you can also back probe the resister pack to see if you get voltage in, but not out. I don't know what you should see for good results though.
I'm gonna try the resistor I guess. Those two plastic pegs what the best method to get them off ? Will a flat head and hammer work or will I break something else
I used a sharp chisel and a couple taps with a hammer. I had a screwdriver in my hand at the time, but I worried about cracking some other part of the duct if the plastic rivets didn't give easily enough. If you don't have a sharp chisel, you can try a flat head. Just pop the tops off them and the resistor will fall down. I think you will need a socket wrench to get the new screws in. I put one screw it with a nut driver, but the other was just a little to tight of an angle.
Looks like the resistor might be toast as the plug is melted in the resistor. So I got another connector I'll let you guys know. Yeah I got it out with a flat.
