Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

blow out

BoostJunki3

Needs A Turbo
so i officially blew out the 3 bolt flange gasket on my pacesetters....should i get a vband to replace that joke of a flange or get it welded like bluegtp91?

The top bolt is near impossible to get tightened real well. I am pulling my welded pacesetters off in the next week or too. I have a new flex to weld in, and was thinking about a v-band clamp as well.

I used like 3 paper collector gaskets and coated the poo outta them with copper RTV.

Still doesnt solve the clearance issue. Get the product in the link and take it to a welding shop and have them weld that in.

FWIW...O'Rielly's sells a copper header gasket that fits perfectly...in the 3 bolt flange.

this. its what i have and works really well.

for the top bolt i just on hooked the dog bones and pushed the motor backwards. made the top bolt pretty easy to get to.

i think ill just go v-band..... damn you think that v-band requires me pulling everything out or can it be done on the car....

**** pacesetters...I broke one of those v-band clamps on the d.p today

surprisingly autozone carries a flange gasket that lines up perfectly with the pace****ter d/p for $8 and change.

the mr gaskets one??? i wouldent not use them i blew one out in a week. the cooper is alot better.

all it is, is a normal 3in 3 bolt gasket. there pretty universial.

^^yup...dont ever use that paper crap...especially the ones they give you. use the stock metal manifold gaskets and just get the damned things welded so we dont have to have these discussions

Nothing wrong with the pacesetters if you put them in right the first time. To weld in the v-band its best if you took the y pipe off and rest of the downpipe so that the flanges can be welded on each. If you take the y-pipe off, you might as well take the crossover off with it and weld that to the y-pipe, so before you take the y-pipe off mark where it is lined up at on the y-pipe. So that way all you have to do is drop the y-pipe through, hook it into the rear header, clamp it and tighten the v-band. Or take the rear header out and weld that also.

I've had the exhaust tack welded to the y-pipe twice now. :th_tongue2:
