Blow my engine?

So im new to modding my car, but i have an 01 GTP with abot 120,000 miles on it. I have done some research and would like to put my hp up around 280 or 300. My question is with that many miles, what is safe to do so it will run for the next few years. Would putting a 3.4 pulley on it (with other mods to make it safe) end up blowing my engine?

Please help

A 3.4 setup will not be close to 300hp at all. My engine has 120k on it and it is a lot more modified than a 3.4 set up.

My exhaust is also going to need replacing soon so i will probably get a downpipe with my new cats. So i could go less then a 3.5 with no problems?

3.0 setup with i/c and a tune and headers read safelly modding your 3800 before anything than re read it again trust us

That should make close to 300 WHP without an IC or the Methanol Injection.

Have fun.

i stayed neck and neck with a 300hp TRD Camary, then started pulling on him before traffic. that was on my 1.9 intercooled 3.5 pulley setup

Like they say it takes alot to get to that 300 Whp... However if you were speaking 300 at the crank well you know thats prolly a little easier :P:P

i said 280 to 300 and yes at the crank. Such mods would be 180 thermostat, Tb spacer, spark plugs and wires, cold air, downpipe, 3.4 pulley, power log front manifold, new cats, and a tune.

XP cam and some things can net as high as 280 WHP on stock heads.

Get a cam and do some headwork and it'll make life easier.

Or dare I say go balls out on the heads then have a cam ground for the heads.

To the OP: Stock pulley is always safest.

A 3.4" pulley & headers & intake & tune & plugs & thermostat will probably net 270 to 280 BHP.

Mine has around 180K on the clock and under the knife now for a FS IC/Cam/Heads, just remember its not if **** is going to blow up its when lol... Just be prepared to fix it once you start getting into adding any kind of horespower.
