Blinking Low Coolant Light

My low coolant blinks/flashes while my car is running. It is random and has no pattern, at one point it was on solid for 2 minutes then went back to random blinking. I took it to my mechanic and he checked the cooling system and the t stat, all are fine. My temp gauge is reading normal. My mechanic thinks its a short in some wiring. Anybody else have a idea on what could be causing this?

My car is doing the same thing. I believe there is coolant gunk buildup on the sensor I read this somewhere and how to fix this, but I forgot where. You are supposed to pull the sensor out and clean it with carb cleaner then it should be ok :th_thumbsup-wink:.

I had this too but it was coming on and off because the level changed everytime I would change inclines. Put some more coolant and it went away. Might be cause your close to being low on coolant?

Common issue with these cars. Usually it is caused by gunk build-up on the sensor. If you know the coolant level is fine, I would first clean the sensor. If that doesn't fix it I would replace the sensor.

My low coolant light was because of the rad core was bad. I did a complete cooling system rebuild and re pressurized the system and it is all good from there.
