Blend door

Where can I find the blend door on our cars. I have searched the site trying to find the thread on it, but no luck. I think there was a write up about it before so if anyone has the link to it it would be great. The problem I am having is the heater air is warm coming out of the center vents, but not so much on the outters. When you stop, the floors blow a little warm and then col when you start to move again. fluid is topped off and engine temp comes up to normal, so I know it's not that. Any input would be greatly appreciated. trying to stay warm on these cold days.

blend doors are either side to your console up to the left of your steering column under the dash on drivers side and on other passenger side if you are running dual controls ; you remove the padded piece held by 2 snap in plastic plugs under the steering column ; then unbolt the plastic cover under your steering column held by 7mm tiny bolts and unsnap the plastic piece from under your steering wheel then there is a metal piece with 2 holes on either end with recessed 10 mm bolts you need to remove ; then u can see the actuator assembly but ion it are 2 tiny 7/32 bolts u need to remove with a 1/4" drive with deep socket and rachet or a palm ratchet as space up there is very limited and then u can unsnap that electrical harness to it as u bring it off the blend door post ; make sure you get a genuine gm part because the cheap chinese parts do not have a stop on the cold or hot side of motor travel and if your controls get screwed up that motor will drive that shaft on the blend door till it warps or shaft snaps off ; this is my take on it on a 2001 grand prix gt
