Bleeding PS system?

I've got an '08 Grand Prix (3800 car) that I just replaced the PS pump/pulley and R&P on. . .I filled the reservoir up and and let it gravity drain into the system for a while, added more fluid to the system. Then I turned the engine over several times without letting it start to cycle the pump and get fluid into the system. . .after about a dozen times of that I started the car and let it run for about 30 sec at a shot and turned it off. . .and quickly cycled the steering back and forth as well. . .

. . .after all of that I started the car and let it run for a couple of minutes cycling the steering back and forth. . .the system doesn't make that horrible groaning noise while it's idling anymore and it's not too bad while cycling the steering back and forth, but it gets pretty loud when it hits the full cycle of the steering and it whines REALLY loud when I rev the engine.

So is there something else I should be doing. . .the fluid level doesn't seem to be dropping and there are no leaks at any of the hose fittings. I've never done a R&P repalcement before and this is the first time I've completely replaced a PS system like this before as well (have always had trucks in the past) so since there doesn't seem to be a service manual available for this car I just kinda went off what needed to be done to my trucks with PS boxes before.

Thanks for the help!

the way i did it was, and i did a rack and the pump as well. was to with the wheels off still. i started the car, and turned the wheels lock to lock 10 times, shut it off, check and fill, turn lock to lock 10 more times. fill if needed. that should do it. yes it will grown a bit till its filled up fully.
