Black smoke. Rough idle

Hey guys and gals. Bought a 2000 gt the other day (for 150$) and was only needing a coil. So I replaced a coil. Started the car and it was running great. Slight tick but nothing I'm to worried about. Anyways got home from work last night went to start it again and it didn't wanna run was rough idle and blowing black smoke when on the gas. Anything I should check? I know most likely running rich. Just don't know what to do from here

Black smoke is usually unburnt gas. Probably not running rich, probably missing a cylinder. Check wires and plugs but first check codes and see if you have a P030X code to tell you which cylinder.
 
Alright. I have a code reader on the way. Hoping within a few days. Will check the code. Going to change the other 2 coils just because. Will pull the plugs tonight.

So far all junk. Think they're still factory wires and coils. I bought wires plugs and both the other coils. Fighting that at the moment. These boots do not wanna let go lol.

twist and rip em off, it dont matter if they break at this point. if it comes down to it, take a razor blade to the boots and peel em off.
 


Good to know Scotty. Thanks. I'll take them off then. Got front done and just for the hell of it started the car. Just the 3 plugs the car sounds 100 times better. Rear and a oil change tomorrow

So. All plugs wires and coils changed. Fuel filter changed. Car starts idles perfect. Then eventually dies. Then won't start again. Fires up and dies right away.
