Black headlights

Hey I was wondering if anybody has tried using black reflective tape when blacking out their headlights instead of paint over the reflective material? If so how'd it work?

i haven't tried it, and i wouldn't recommend it.

do it the right way the first time. buy some covers, or black housing headlights.

I wonder how that would work? high heat black paint? the headlights dont come apart so you paint the inside though huh?

The reason why i was thinking about using black reflective tape instead of covers or buying black housings is because you loose light quality with both. Covers dim the lights and the black housing is not reflective. Just a though to try to retain as much light as possible when going black with headlights.

As for them not separating or coming apart you can take the lense off the housing with lots of heat. For example putting in an over to heat the glue/silicone. I did mine by boiling them for about 15 minutes. Ive seen a couple self done headlights with the bottom and top painted black. not sure what type of paint they use though.

This was just a though cuz I've read ppl loose a lot of light at night when buying the black housings or not taking off the covers at night.
