Black 99 GT[P] Coupe (Intercooler Install)

It has been a while since I have updated this thread. I have been working on getting my intercooler installed this past month. While performing this upgrade I needed to replace the cracked flexplate and front main seal. So while the engine was out I swapped out the steel subframe for an aluminum one. Having to pull the engine was a blessing in disguise as I found that the header was rubbing on the power steering line and it was almost rubbed through.

I am working on getting the FMHE to fit and still be able to use the lower valance. It has been a lot of time with a cutoff wheel and a die grinder.

I also had to re-plumb the fuel system. The PRJ rails that i bought do not fit perfectly with the gen V. Yet again more work with the die grinder this is becoming my go to tool as it has been used for every upgrade so far.

And a pic of the grinding needed to fit the AN fitting.

on your fmhe i bought marshal its drain is facing up now, cause it stuck out to low and the mounting tabs and inlet tubes needed to be facing the the pass side where i put my pump.

i think you mounted your pump on the driver side so the portson the fmhe would end up on that side and the drain on the bottom.

i got this flipped 180 ports to the pass side, drain up, lower tabs got mounted tot he bottom of the rad support, top tot hat bar bolted in between the rd support, hood latch bottom cut off and welded to that bar.

it fit in with out cutting the bumper. and the fans pull air through the fmhe too. ive yet to even feel this thing get warm too.

that makes sense. when I install my turbo and intercooler, I might cut the bumper support so the heat exchanger is up in there nice and tight. I like how that heat exchanger fit's in there. I bet a good tig welder could weld the intercooler into the bumper, and not sacrifice a lot of bumper strength.

I'm interested to see how the bumper and heat exchanger end up fitting on the car.

I got my pump mount yesterday and decided to make a custom mounting bracket.

do a test fit on the bumper to make sure the pump is in the clear there, why mines tucked in the gap under the washer fluid tank.

thats a nice bracket too. and a high and tight fmhe, i can dig that too. it also looks much fatter then mine. mines about 4 inches, that looks like 6 easy.

Good idea , I might do the same when the time comes to put my IC on, especially riding on coils there not much room

I had to flip the throttle body to gain a little more clearance.
