Big wreck caused by Camaro driver - Dash Cam

One of the first things you learn when you start driving is that you need to share the road. Well, like a spoiled kid, this driver refused to share and made everyone pay.

A driver behind the wheel of a Camaro in upstate New York found himself sandwiched between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer, so he put on his aggressive motorist cap and tried to squeeze by them.

One teeny weeny little problem: he couldn’t. While the driver of the pickup was being kind of a jerk by refusing to let the Camaro pass, that didn’t give the Camaro license to try and pull off a NASCAR-like move by jumping in the shoulder and then attempt to quickly cross over two lanes.

That’s exactly what the Camaro thought would be a good idea. Obviously, it wasn’t because you’re now reading all about it.

Amazingly, no one was hurt in the crash. The Camaro’s driver has been charged with DWI and driving without a license, which will probably expedite the whole getting his license revoked deal he would otherwise be dealing with.

im sure both trucks were doing the speed limit, if not a bit more. camaro driver had no right to be driving for one, and 2, he was also drunk.

camaro driver is the problem here.

and after almost being side swiped no way in hell id let him past me if i was in the pick up truck.

i'd have gotten the hell out of his way so he wasn't anywhere near me when he did crash instead of sticking around to be part of it...

nah id block him in just to piss him off more........you have no idea how many cars ive pinched off into parked cars, or the curb, you want to pass me, do it right.

traffic and a lane merge, where theres a sign that says merge, anyone who wont play the zipper game gets put in their place asap. i take no crap like that at all. my own road rage i guess. dont be a jerk and i wont be one either i guess lol

This.

The first move, yeah you have a right to be mad, but to instigate someone who is already obviously unstable more, makes you just as bad. Just let it go sometimes it is not worth it, especially at those speeds.

You don't know who is so crazy anymore that they will fire off a gun at you.

Whose to say he wouldn't have side swiped the semi while trying to pass? I can see it from both angles, he could have caused a worse wreck if he kept going. People need to realize they're driving around 2 tons of metal.

Who knows if he would've made it home (Lucky)? Who knows what would've happened later down the highway if the truck just let him pass? Driving drunk you lose all judgment, so realizing you drive 2 tons of metal goes out the window, so in a way since everyone walked away from this is a better result for that matter, though probably not a pleasant experience for anyone.

And not that the driver of the pickup knew this, but no license and drunk...more than likely means his paperwork wasn't up to snuff on insurance either, good luck trying to get money out of him. You're on the bill financially now with your own insurance for uninsured motorist which still leaves you paying out of pocket. Would I just move out of the way and hopefully save myself the $1000+ to make myself whole again with another vehicle? You bet your ass I would.

NO SQUATTING in the left FVCKing lane especially next to a semi!!

pickup driver is a douche as is the camaro driver for trying to pass on the left!

Back in Phoenix many years ago I was I in a similar situation and when I let the driver pass he kept pestering me. He even swerved across 3 lanes and slammed into the median trying to get to me. I called the DPS and they were there within minutes and pulled the guy over. I personaly would have done that in this situation too.

I think we can all agree that the Camero driver was a douche.

What I don't understand is the thought process of the pickup driver. What is gained by blocking someone? Do people actually enjoy making others angry?

Last time I checked, what he was doing is illegal. Something about impeding the flow of traffic, or something like that,

"teaching them a lesson" is what most people think they are doing.

or the "i'm already speeding so you're just going to have to wait" people. those people suck, too.

Not only that, but my wife has gotten a ticket for speeding up to let someone pass. It was in Texas, so that might have something to do with it...

impeding the flow of traffic implies one is going less then the posted speed limit.

your not allowed to speed to pass someone either.

guy in the pick up did nothing wrong still. the camaro made all the wrong moves from start to the finish, from the almost sideswipe all the way to the seine of the crash......

iirc the first post said he had no lic, and was drunk, so he had no rights to be driving in the damn first place, right there its all his fault, cause if he was in a taxi like he should have been we'd not be talking about his dumb actions.
