ok I just replaced my valve cover gasket, the one under the intake plenum and when I start the car back up it doesnt stay on and i have a puddle of water under the car? please help..

huh?? valve cover gasket, upper intake gasket/ supercharger gasket or lower intake gasket?

If it was the lower intake gasket, check your coolent elbows by the belt tensioner. They break easily

Well he posted in the DOHC 3.4L section, so I'll assume for the minute that that is the engine he has and is referring to and if so they are a slightly different beast.

O....my bad. Sorry about that. I messed around with a 3.4 not too long ago. My dads impalla has a 3.4 and there is a coolant metal tube that ran across the the front of the engine that we almost forgot. Not sure if you had to mess with that

It's the 3.4L DOHC, which is totally different (the top end, anyway) than the 3400 in your dad's Impala.

The valve cover gasket wouldn't cause a puddle of water under your car. Are you sure you're not referring to an intake gasket?

yea im sorry i pulled of the plenum again and found that the hose that runs from the fuel pressure regulator to the plenum for vacum pressure was squished, so I replaced that with a regular vacum hose? now it runs but not the way it did before i started. its just at idle its stumbles its not smooth. but the gasket for the plenum is broke, but i dont anymore just yet for another one so i used gasket sealer ? until i can get a new one, is that why its running like that?
