• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Big Block guys... step in...

My vette with the 468 and 4.11's and a 4 speed would do about 3250 at 60-65 mph, due to the motor being an LS7 it liked the RPM's and was "a lil sloppy" down low but then I didn't mind it, that was also with a 26 inch tire. The Camaro with the blown 447 I was running 31x18's with a 4.56 spool. You never stated (unless I missed it what tire diameter your running) will directly effect your true ratio. Sounds like it will be a fun toy when ya decide which direction you're going to go...

did not state it as Im not sure yet on the wheel/tire setup that im gonna use (obviously slicks will NOT be it)...

gonna have to do some research to figure out exactly how I want it...

Just drove the GTO yesterday for the first time this year. Saw this thread and thought I'd post. .040 over 427 Chevy w/671 on meth so it inhales fuel like a teenager on freon. 4 mpg I figure so I plan my trips carefully even with a 45 gallon fuel cell. That all said I used to run a 4 speed with 3:55's and 28" tire but now it's a Tremec TKO and 4:11's w/29.5" ET streets and on the highway, where the motor is "happy" around 2500 rpm I'm running about 75 mph and getting almost 6 mpg which is huge for me. I try to keep it under 70 on the highway though so I can aviod trouble. Bright Orange with a huffer sticking out of the engine compartment you are gauranteed to get noticed.

Op if you are truly considering a manual tranny I would highly recommend the TKO, it strong and reliable, shifts like butter and wieghs 100 pounds less than the six speed as well as being less bulky. In my car I had to do a little modding to the tranny tunnel but nothing major. Automatics (especially glides) are great for bracket cars but for a fun street car there is nothing like shifting for yourself. My car was a factory 4 speed and I wanted to keep that "stock" vibe to the interior but with a radical motor. My car made 750 to the tire with the old setup and I've yet to hurt the TKO and it's a heavy car. Clutch choice is huge and I went with a Mcloed setup which I recommend calling them and telling them exactly what you are running for them to make a recommendation on what to run.
