BGPM 2008, Sept. 4th - 6th

As of right now, I plan on being there on Thursday morning around 11am. Its going to be a whirlwind trip, as I will be driving back from Halifax, Nova Scotia on Monday, going to work on Tues - Thurs and Branson on Friday - Sunday.

If you can swing it, I would suggest getting there on Wednesday and enjoy the town. The BGPM schedule is a full one and there is some down time, but most people use the down time to hang out with new found and old friends, so there is not much of a chance to see the sights. There are a ton of things to do, everything from Silver Dollar City to Go-Carts to a water park, and for shows they have everything from Rock (Road to Rock) to Andy Williams and comedy shows like Yakov Smirnoff.

Its going to be a great time so lets get the word out and have a big push for the last couple of weeks of pre-registration.

Some KC guys will also be down there Wednesday night. Probably after 9pm, but I'm sure we will be up for a while after that.

My plan is to arrive late Wednesday this year. Was a great time last year and the extra day would allow the time to enjoy the area attractions. Due to recent developments I'm currently being told we're not going.:( I will do my best to make sure we still make it and will donate my registration if not. That would truly be a disappointment. Extremely looking forward to seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and hanging with some more top notch people I have met since BGPM07! Not to mention I have a chance at my first convoy in years.

I recommend this event to everyone, one of the best I've attended. You won't regret it!!

Gotta start busting ass on the GTP regardless!

Any of you guys who will be there wed night, shoot me a PM, and I'll give you my cell number so you can call me when you get there. :)

Hear you? And you didn't like the exhaust contest idea? Puffffffft. Your scared.

So far on my list to do Wednesday/Thursday
1. hang out and drink a lot.
2. Ride the Ducks
3. Ripley's Believe It or Not
4. Titanic Museum
5. Silver Dollar City
6. Friday evening, group dinner for the local club. Ya know the place. :th_biggrin2: (shhhhhhhhhh to the locals :th_thumbsup-wink:)

Here is a useful/helpful link for stuff to do with prices too:

Ok, I guess I should re-phrase and say, 'anybody that arrives wed night and has nothing else do but wants to hang out, shoot the ****, and have some beverages... let me know.'

I'm going to be in branson beginning August 30th with my wife do silver dollar city, the ducks, etc. I figure by wednesday, all I'm going to want to do is sit around, talk cars, and drink brew. :-D

Thats what we do about every evening anyway there. You wont be alone on that one, trust me. I'll keep going to this event, as long as it doesn't turn into a huge drunk fest. I don't want this event to end like the final years of the real GPG in KC.

So with the Saloon being no-more and Saturday is open to suggestions or since you guys are trying to lock down on a plan for lunch and car show..... What was wrong with last years plans? Most of the guys really liked the hotel parking lot and its great convenience as well as strolling next door to Danas for lunch, its great food at a great price and we will be eating there a number of times because we enjoyed it so much the few times we had it last year. Is the hotel parking lot off limits this year? I know its not a place for a big group picture but we know who to upset for those lol. Just an idea and Im sure a lot of people would like to do what we did last year as our rooms were easy to stroll in and out of throughout the day that way.

I agree Dave, and with Brian too.

Well, with the opening of the Fall Creek Resturant next door, parking where we had the show last year may be a problem. The resturant is ALWAYS busy and takes up the entire.

It looks like gas prices is the main reason for low registration, so as it stands now, we can have the show at the hotel with no real problems. If I dont hear anything from Shake It Up today, we will have the show on the front side of the hotel with the lunch at Dana's.

Going to ask again now...

Is it cool that the hotel sets up a hose and spray nozzle again so we can wash our cars before th show?

Of course we will bring our on buckets, wash mitts, and supplies. :D Zaino FTW!

Sounds good Chris! Im sure that will make a lot of people happy if we can have it in the hotel parking lot again. The new restraunt was a concern of mine also but being we havent been there to see it or its business levels I didnt know how much impact it would have. How much of the parking lot is used for the restraunt? Will we have the same room in the parking lot we did last year? I would image they have a hotel only parking area that would seperate the two as people staying at the hotel would lose there spots to restraunt customers but I could be wrong on that since again I havent seen it yet.

Well I can tell you this. I have been there 3 times since the resturant opened, and the last 2 times, the entire parking lot was full where we had the car show for the last 2 years. This year we will have it either in the front of the hotel or the back of the hotel, but the side is out.

I am sure they will appreciate us doing the burnouts in the parking lot too? Nothing better goes with BBQ than the smell of burnt rubber
