• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

BGPM 2008, Sept. 4th - 6th

Lets just say, I'm glad I booked my room Months in advance, so I ain't worried about staying somewhere else, from where the action is happening. LOL

I'm with you on that. Lined mine up months ago as well.

I'll spred the word as much as I can across the 30+ GP forums I'm on when I get the time. Don't really visit too many other w-body forums, but I might now.

Awww, I was waiting for the May 1 registration and now you moved it back on me.....

Yea, I had to move it back a couple of weeks. We had a death in the family so I had to cancel my trip to branson to work out meals and all, but we are about to get back on track. Should be going this weekend. Just wanted to give myself some wiggle room with registration....Most of the events are planned. Just getting together the final items so there are no surprises.

No problem Chris. Thanks for the update! Family first, we will all be there regardless of registration date. We'll be there late Wednesday this year.

Ahh you can skip out and make it to the track lol Dont expect magic numbers, its likely going to be pretty warm and humid. Its a great time though and you wont want to leave!

Planned on being there this year, but the National Guard is sending me to Warrant School in August and I don't think I'll be back in time.

anything in the 12's and i'll be happy. anyone work or know someone who is from a funeral parlor?:p

I'll have to say good luck with that. Cars that would normally be in the 12's last year ran in the 13.2 range.....good old hot an humid weather.

But the track is prepped AWESOME. Those guys down there really pour the VHT down. :th_thumb-up:

Yeah, I wouldn't be expecting to break the sound barrier. Hot and humid day in the hills. Don't think there will be any PBs, but it was fun nonetheless and still competitive. Great time!

Worth taking the extra day to be there Friday and Saturday. Still won't have enough time as far as I'm concerned and I'll be there from Wed night to Sun morning.

Hopefully you'll be back in time. Really is an event to attend.

The track prep both years has been GREAT, but its the weather that is hit or miss. The first year the weather was dry and it was in the mid 70's and we had a bunch of guys and gals that ran Personal Bests....Last year we were doing an anti rain dance and it lasted long enought to get it all in.

Geddy, I am thinking of going down on Saturday morning and hitting SDC. Staying at the Fall Creek Inn, then on Sunday checking out some photo sites and some resturants.

Cool, that's good to know. 2007 was my first year and I didn't know 2006 had put out such good results. Like you said though the weather did hold out when we needed it to. Hopefully we get beautiful weather for 2008.

Hey Chris, is there any set script, etc. you have that you would like us to use to promote the event? I know all the info isn't set in stone, but I will probably start some threads on other forums tonight. Already have a couple going, but I'll start pushing more. Registration is getting close!!

i thought september would be cooler around there, but just remember misouri is way south of illinois. oh well if i don't make it friday, saturday would still be nice day to go. anyone have good guess on how many hours from chicago to branson?

Its roughly 5 hours from Chicago to St. Louis and its about 2 to 2 1/2 hours from St. Louis to Branson. Best guessing mind you, but its pretty accurate.

Word of mouth is the best advertising that there is, so feel free to talk up your experience and anything that you find on Branson Grand Prix Meet 2008 . All that information is up to date, and I will keep it updated. As soon as I can get the meals ironed out with pricing, I will update the date that registration will open. As of now, just post that registration will open around the last couple of weeks of May. Also you need to get your hotel reservations made quickly. Last I heard, the bottom floor was booked, so we are working on the filling up the 2nd floor. With any luck the hotel will be sold out by June.
