• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

my puter went bad with virus, cyberlink was on screen and says for 79.00 they will erase all virus. after paying with credit card it was still on there. took to shop and (cyber security is the virus,) got it cleaned up and told to get hold of bank, they refunded the money because it is a hoax, all members merry christmas from my family to you.

no,its not a joke, it happened and showed 32 virus and we fell for it and puter running slow and acting up, took to a prefessional shop and cyber security was the virus, bank refunding the credit card money, bank says its a hoax from ? that company not even listed (foreign?) it happened also in cols, ohio today to employee at work also. but works beside my niece and found out the truth before he fell for it.

He's probably being truthful. My brother's laptop got the Antivirus System PRO virus last week. Everytime you click on anything on your computer it pops up saying your computer is infected and you need to buy the program to delete it. It even pretends like its scanning your computer. He had to take it to Staples and they ran through the computer and had to remove it. Once you get it, you can't really do anything on your computer. It completely interrupts EVERYTHING you try to do.

Yea, I'm a software engineer, I also help my friends with their computers and this is a virus I've seen on some of them. One thing I always say, unless you opened the window TO buy something on purpose (ebay n stuff) NEVER TYPE OUT CREDIT CARD OR BANK INFO. >_<

sorry kawa that i am not as smart as you. i had to drop out of school in 1954 to work on farm, so not to good at puter things.

I believe him. And yes people out there believe this stuff.

I believe it. I've seen it. Conspiracy theory here. Anti-virus companies make viruses to market anti-virus software. It's all about money. If I wanted to make an anit-virus software, I would make a virus that my anti-virus program removes. Instant profit.

And gee, look at that.. Mr Big Blue has to have a say in everything, which usually has no real merit, as usual. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Well, when you have something useful to say...which I have yet to see, I'll stop posting against you.

or he doesnt know that much about computers... just like me
i basically fail at some stuff on them
and you can get viruses from alot of different sites

yea be careful when you push download, and read the windows that pop up before you push anything. I've had these kinds of programs on my relatives computers all the time. It's a pain to get off. There were some strong programs on the net that scan and remove anything that could be seen as hazardous. Just be smart about what you click.

The most common way to get this type of virus is when you try to view a video on a website. It will ask you to download a "codec" and as soon as you click the link to do so... you're screwed.

Yea even though AVG Antivirus is a free software, I've used it on my laptop since I've had it for about 2-3 years now and haven't had a problem on it once.

Almost any random virus protector that shows up out of no where on your pc claiming there is a virus is usually a virus
