Best way to measure KR

Hey guys, I recently bought a Bluetooth obd2 reader, I downloaded the torque app free version as I wanted to see what it offers before I purchase the full.. Couldn't find where to measure KR at. I did the custom PID with GM but I didn't want to select it because the pop up said I can screw things up.. thanks all

Pay for Torque! It's probably one of the best android apps I've ever purchased. It works as it should, reports exactly what you're pcm is seeing. Set up only the things you need to monitor as too many pid's can slow it down. Using an old phone dedicated for the purpose is a nice touch too, simple and cheap multi-gauge! It'll also clear trouble codes but be advised, that will reset drive cycle test so don't think you can clear codes and pass an inspection say... Anyways, I've used it for some time and even compared it to direct gauge reads and is spot on.

Good Luck!

I use torq, max KR I got (Do not do what I have done, if my engine blows I am ok with buying another engine.) was 3.8 on a super hot day, I am running a 3.3 pulley, with nothing more than catless down pipe, plugs, intake, ported blower, 180 degree tstat, and canned tune.

What is it on a normal day? If it's more than 0 you need to either pulley up or do more flow mods. I find it very hard to believe that you only see that much kr with pretty much no mods and a 3.3 pulley.

Sometimes it takes a while, I have had to delete and reinstall, turn the phone off and back on, reset and all sorts of things to get it to work at times when I first got it. It will not show KR and any of the normal functions like engine temp or timing. I have KR on one page and everything else on another. When I switch between pages it has to change so it takes about 30-60 seconds to reconnect. I use the phone for work and it's the only app on the phone. I like the app but I've had issues like that all along. It hasn't been a deal breaker, after all where else can you scan for codes, read live data and clear codes for less than $30?

It sounds like an issue with either the phone or the adapter to me. My first android would only work if I loaded a custom rom with updated bluetooth drivers.

No I ended up getting a new phone from work and I use my iPhone for everything else. Not a fan of the android phones but it works with the app. I have seen one at Hi Lo that is supposed to work with the iPhone, it's made by Bosch and runs $99, but I already had the app and a BAFX adapter. Beware of the cheap eBay elm327's they are hit or miss. I purchased one that one of the guys recommended and it works with everything but GM.

From what I know about these cars, that is not too far fetched having a 3.3 pulley on it, and not enough flow mods to support it. It was over 5* of KR when I got it, I pulled the heads, replaced with ARP studs, ported the blower, and cleaned the crap off the pistons (so much build up, someone had a rich tune on it before or something because carbon was caked on). On a normal day i don't see any KR because I barely get about 3500 rpms, my commute is 4.5 miles one way and I'm in no hurry. I think normal temp out at WOT it's about 3* or KR. I know I need headers, I am working on getting the body looking good again, then getting some headers. It's not that important to me, it's only a grand prix.
