Best way to clean LIM & supercharger gasket surfaces?

I have used carb cleaner, degreaser etc.. and a razor blade. The surface feels smooth for the most part but there is still a gasket discoloration or residue left over. How do I get the surface perfectly clean? I was thinking of using a wire wheel but don't want to destroy anything.

Suggestions?

The strongest chemical to use would be aircraft stripper. I gently used a pneumatic sander at my friends shop to skim the surface on mine last time I did them. That worked great.

FWIW I use a 3m roloc pad like most mechanics. The surface appears clean until I wipe it clean with brake cleaner. The gasket shadow appears again when it's cleaned. That's completely normal and doesn't mean that the surface is not clean.

What I'm saying is..I think you are all set.
