Best way to change O2 sensor/ECT sensor?

For the O2: Go in from the top or from underneath? If I unbolt the dogbones could the motor come foward enough to get back there with a wrench?

And for the ECT: Do I need to take the exhaust crossover off to get to it? Looks like it's the only way to get there with a socket.

if your set on taking it off and just replacing you could buy the o2 socket which is a 7/8's and use an extension, or cut the pig tail and use a 7/8 socket but then I dont know if you would have enough room to get the new one in using the wrench method

You need one of these, like 10-15 bux at your local auto parts store, buy one, youll need it later at some point or another

you can pull the motor forwards a little more, but the o2 sensor placement just sucks in general. you kinda just have to get in there and have at it.

They were both the same size, but the inside of the socket was a little too narrow. Doesn't really matter though as the other socket worked just fine.

Truth^ One of our techs has 2 different ones, both the "same" size, but one wouldnt work to remove my 02 sensor when we did the motor swap... dunno why but it happens
