Best Sandable Plastic Glue?

burgundybullet

Modded for Maximum Slow
Hey all I just got a set of plastic window visors and I need to repair a small crack in one. I am curious as to what glue would work the best to repair the crack so I can sand them down and paint them and not have the crack be noticeable or reappear. Thanks in advance.

I've used epoxy on cracked plastic, and for some reason the epoxy just dried around it, and with a little bit of force it slid off leaving a smooth layer of epoxy. I ended up taking the 2 halves of plastic edges to the wire wheel to scuff it up just a little, which ended up making the epoxy stick just fine. I guess my lesson learned was to have a non-glazed clean surface.

Alright. I was leaning towards epoxy but my past experiences with using it on plastic have been hit and miss. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.

Well its possible but the junkyard by me has one GP thats a coupe and the other one a couple towns over wont let you go out in their yard to look for stuff so theres notelling what they even have and they probably dont even know.

Car-part.com and ebay may be a couple of good options.

You could always try finding someone with a "plastic welder". Google it for more info on that process.
