Best projector headlights?

How is that done? Also some of the pics i've seen of GP's with projectors look pretty sweet, but i guess it's just the pics making them look much better than they really are.

The eBay ones only look sweet, the light output from them is pure ****. So if you like to be able to see at night I would recommend what I said in the above post.

Search around the forum for various retro fit headlight threads. There might be a few threads with pictures left to view.

Basically you have to remove the lense, cut open the rear of the headlight, fit the projectors in and make them fit/stay in place. Test fits and aiming them to make them straight and level, then seal them back up.

I did some on my car 3-4 years ago but I don't own it anymore. I bought everything from the retrofit source and a VVME HID kit.

Some old pictures.

x2 for Classy. And OP, pics don't do them justice. Once you run projectors, you will never want to run halogen again.

I find the Spyder projector headlights to have excellent light output paired with HID bulbs. I can say it was a huge improvement over stock. It did take a little bit of work to make them stop shaking but they are pretty stable now. I bonded the threaded inserts for the adjustment screws to the brackets with clear epoxy because they snap into place and are loose from the start. I also slotted the mount holes on the car to achieve a flush installation. I can try to get some pictures if anyone is interested. Main reason I like the headlights is the one-piece design with the corner lights integrated with the headlights.

I'm suprised you havent melted anything in those spyders yet.

Having to spend that amount on headlights, AND modifying them extensively just for them to fit?

I'd rather do retros, with my own choice of shoud, lens, and even halo LED ring. Then there's nobody else with the same one. lol

What type of bulbs would i need? I have hid's already installed (been on there for years) but the bulbs i have can plug right into my stock housings. I bought a set of projectors off ebay and the bulb inlet is definitely not going to use the ones i already have. Most of these rightups say h1 bulbs. Those are h1 bulbs in my hid's already. I just need to know the exact bulb type. I've read enough to have a pretty good idea on how everything else is done. I just don't want to order the wrong bulbs.

I have the Morimoto mini 7.0 projectors. I guess the mini means mini h1 bulbs because that's whats my fog lights use. I didn't think those projectors used those smaller hid's. The ones in my headlights are a little longer. Yeah you're right...H1 is it. My fogs have h3's.

I use 35watt hid bulb and never had anything melt. I would not consider what I did 'extensive modifying' but I guess that is subject to opinion. I like them some people don't.

I bought them because they are cheaper than pre-fab retros and I got it as a package deal with LED taillights which I desperately needed at the time. Mine were more like aquariums.

The headlights will bolt on and work ok. But with a little tweaking they work great in my opinion.

Does anyone know what that cap/plug on the back of headlight housings is for? They're not tight you could twist it freely but it won't come out. One of minds came out when i baked it. I know i can just stick it back in but i'm just curious as to why they are there.

That is the vent to let moisture out.
