Best place to get HIDs

So I'm a new owner of a 2006 GP GT and I'm looking to upgrade to HIDs. 5000k(as white as possible) for the lows and 3000k for the fogs.

I have never dealt with HIDs before...anything I should know? are they plug and play?

Not looking to spend a fortune...just some decent lights at a good price.

Thanks!

white is 4300K.

most of the kits are the same old thing, just find one that looks quality and buy a good harness to wire in the ballasts and bulbs.

diodedynamics.com has some nice looking HID kits and they have a life time warranty on the ballast and wiring. and they are only 80.00 buck plus 10.00 for the wiring relay harness

i'm scared to mess with them...i've heared too many story's of them " burning out " too soon ... I'd love to have them but scared i'll get a low quality item.

fogs are 898. youll have to just ask the company you are buy your kits form to see if they have any kits for the fogs or not some do some dont. i know when the 04+ body came out you couldnt find any aftermarket bulbs for the fogs but they have slowly started to appear

Click on the link in my signature for a good HID system. To my knowledge you will not find an 898 HID bulb. Get the 880 and take off the rubber insulating ring on the bulb and it will fit the fog.

alright next question...since the fog is the turn signal...how does that work?? doesn't blinking harm the bulb?

OK, perhaps pictures will help????

^^^Notice the difference between these bulbs. The beige colored one is an 894 and the black one is the 898 in the 04+, nonGXP Grand Prix's. The difference? Just the round, rubber gasket that the 894 has, that's it. The wattage is the same and so are the grooves that lock it into place.

^^^Notice the back of the foglamp and how it has rubber material around the slots that lock in the bulb. This is why anything other than an 898 won't fit this housing...unless you remove the rubber gasket on the bulb itself. If you remove the gasket from an 880, 893, 894, 895, etc. it will fit.

^^^ The HID bulb in the foglight housing is an 880 that has had it's rubber gasket removed.

^^^880 HID bulb without the gasket.

^^^The front of the 04+ nonGXP foglight/turnsignal. The top half is the turnsignal and the bottom is the foglight with the 880 HID bulb installed.

I hope this helps.
