if it is 70* outside how can the tempeture be LOWER than 70 degrees in your intake....the lowest it can be is 70*


i understand how the intake works and all but just dont understand how the air temps entering your intake can be lower than the outside (ambient) temps

At higher air speeds, the air may see a pressure drop off, any drop in pressure will lower the temperature, Pressure is directly related to temp...... Hence why we get KR, high pressure making high temps, it works both ways.... hope this helps everyone understand
 
Without a phase-change style of cooling system, you shouldn't be able to see more than a few tenths of a degree below ambient. Moving air does have a slightly lower pressure, but it isn't significantly cooler in any way.
 
anyways.... I guess I now have an idea of what CAI to get..... damn,,, how did it get so darn technical........ this thread went from 2 pages to 7 pages in less than two days.... dont you all work? lol.....you people just make me feel KR.

The msp is a decent intake, but is far from superior. It was out performed in every aspect of these test.

I've seen the tests and some of it I don't agree with. I still believe the MSP has its suporior sides IMO. I'm not a big fan of the Thrasher style box setup. The air gap in the MSP is a really nice feature. You'd have to see both to see what i'm talking about. The Wizaired has no air coming unless the headlight is removed, the MSP always has incoming air w/ or w/o the headlight removed. I ain't the only one who had great results with the MSP CAI, so you can take those tests for what there worth.

I will say, the Wizaired did have a bigger tube than the MSP and more insoluation although the DEI is pretty damn good that the MSP came with. With a bigger tube and more insolution, I don't see any Wizaired out performing an MSP with a few tweaks IMO.

All I can say is moving air can have a cooler air charger. I'm not making outrages claims here. It would be different if I was saying 20 degrees difference. I'm only saying a few degrees here. With steady cool air blowing on something (ex: a filter) I don't see why a cooler charge wouldn't be present. Why do we use ceiling fans when its hot? If they don't give you cooler air why do we use them? I hope that makes sense, if not I don't know what else to say. I don't care if you believe me or not, thats the info I got. And by touch my CAI box would be noticeable cool on the inside. I'm not here to misinform anyone.

Hell I remember when I posted this info on ClubGP years ago, FWI guys weren't impressed because they said there FWI got 10 degrees ambient or some bull**** like that and CAIs suck blah blah blah. Talking about outrages claims, there ya go.
 
well if your still contemplating on an intake i can tell you that i just got the jmb intake in and got it installed and it fits far from perfect....i am still happy with it though...fyi

The Impala guys are lucky then. The Wizaired pulls air from the fenderwell and there is a huge gap behind our headlight its gets air from as well. It's like having a fWI w/o having to put the filter all the way down in the fender.

Indeed is correct that it gets all of its air from the fender area, making it a FWI without the restriction of bends in the intake tubing, plus an easy way to service the filter.
