Bent Strut

I took the Grand Prix to the alignment shop today and they gave me an alignment, fixed my toe in, and informed me that the guy who wrecked the car before me left me with a front right strut that's bent pretty bad.

I have a couple questions:
How pressing is it to get it fixed? They told me it's not immediate and it's not going to break or anything, but I wanted to see what you guys think.

Also, they told me it would cost $210 plus tax to get the strut and have it done. Would it be cheaper and worth it to try to do it myself or should I just let them do it? Any details about how to do it etc. would be great. My dad refuses to allow me to pay to have it done; he wants to do it. So I really need a write up lmao

I've also been told that struts are replaced in pairs...but the shop didn't mention that. It is a very reputable shop that has been around for years soooo. Is this true or not?

Thanks!

Just so you know you can easily kill yourself with a strut.

I would never replace just one strut.

Just like i'd never replace just one rotor. But there are people who do it...

hmmmm, where is it bent at?
idk, i havent seen it myself.

Yes, he is going to do it; he has done it before, just not on a GP. Well the thing is affordability. It would be easier to pay around $100 and replace the one strut, at least for now. IDK
It's not top of my list right now, the alignment helped a great deal and other than it being slightly stiff when you turn to the right at a moving speed, I can't hardly tell it.
