• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Before I have problems...

I just bought a 2004 GTP with 60k and it is stock....for now... I want to prevent tranny problems. I used to have a 97 and lost the tranny at 100k. I plan on building this one to be as storng as possible. Suggestions?

"as strong as possible" will get very expensive, like >$5K in parts expensive. What kind of power are you planning on putting through it?

I want a healthy 400whp... I had 300whp at the end of my 97's life but went through 2 trannies between 100k and 150k... I dont wanna do that again...

What failed on your other transmissions? If it was the input shaft or the chain, there are cures for both of those readily available. If you're that hard on the diff, a Torsen or Quaife diff is tough to find.

400whp is going to require a full build unless you want to be on borrowed time :th_sick1: An upgraded input shaft and single chain conversion is a must for those power numbers as well as shift kit and some internal mods to keep the clutches alive.

My sun gear broke... Sheared it right in two... It was stuck in 3rd and wanted to go even if you put it in park and it had no reverse. It happened while sitting at a stop light. It popped really loud when I came to a stop, then when I when to go I noticed it didn't act like it wanted to... The second one failed cause of a bad torque converter...
