• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Before and after the deer!

GTX hood from 3800 performance,

Black housed headlight from ebay, already have moisture first wash, no lie, kind of upset about it. I will have to seal them with silicone like I did my oem tails.

Please don't mind the up close pics, garage is super narrow and it's snowing and 12 degrees outside. Just got it back from the body shop today and didn't want to get it dirty, been without it for a minute. I will get better shots next decent day. Let me know what you think.

Oh yeah added some tips too, got them from ebay for 36 bucks. They're from a 04-08 gp with original gm part! Stole them for that price!

That hood is sexy, the tips are pretty bad ass, the black housings, well, they are honestly my favorite headlights for these cars. Good job, bet you miss her haha

I see you went redneck deer hunting.

Deer suck when they come in contact with your car/truck, but thank goodness for insurance, and a nice aftermarket for better than stock replacement parts.

Car looks good man, sucks it happened, but happy for you they took care of you, and now your ride is better than before.

Ya I was on a major interstate in Ohio. I had old fogged up stock oem headlights I had no chance. I was actually just cruising 65mph, looked right then back to middle of the road. I saw her about 50 yards if that going 65mph. Deer was standing on the passing lane on 4 lane highway. Once my tires started to squeel she turned and ran right into me. Nothing I could do. If I went left I was hitting her for sure. I went to the right until I had no more road and bam. I probably hit it her 55mph+ at least.

I was wanting a new hood for a minute and new headlights so everything worked out in my benefit. My insurance adjuster gave me $2601-$500 deductible. I paid for the hood and headlights so they deducted that from the estimate. Then charged me $384 for hood labor/prepwork. Final bill was $2337.22 +$724 for hood +$384+$90 to ship hood to body shop. I took it to the best body shop in our Mansfield Ohio, there paintwork is second to none.

I will tell anyone interested in a GTX hood do NOT buy it from 3800 Performance I got ripped off $200. These hoods are made by a company, ASCD (American Sports Car Design) which is the former name. It's now Stinger Fiberglass but in exact same location made by Artie himself. The ASCD website has these hoods on sale for $525, 3800 Perf $724. I asked 3800 Perf to price match the hood since the same company makes their hoods and they would not. They actually made up a big ole speel on how the hood didn't come from ASCD, no sh*t it came from Stinger Fiberglass which is the same place.

Car has 86,000 original miles on it so it's really clean. I may do a spoiler but that will be it for outside appearance I'm keeping the stock wheels they're just fine for me.

I've done a few things since I've got her, gmpp front and rear sway bars with poly links, gmpp trailing arms, upper front and rear strut bars. Also 1.95 YT roller rockers, springs, retainers, valve seals, and speeddaddy headers. I've got a wizaird cai but I may or may not switch it to the MSP cai to meet the hole for air from the hood ducting. I've been told this is a waste of money but it's someone elses opinion not mine. Currently on a 3.2 pulley as it's daily driven up until the snow flew. Runs really good, never been to the track with it though.

Shoot I'm glad it wasn't a buck! It was a huge doe though. It actually jumped and when it hit the car the hoof dented the hood. You can kind of see it in the 1st pic. Needless to say I have a freezer full of deer meat.

Everything happens for a reason. I don't recommend steering towards hitting a deer to get your car hooked up. I was lucky it could've came up the hood and smashed into the windshield which probably would've meant they would've totalled it. It was a nice piece of driving by myself just to keep the car on the road, it almost spun the car around.
