hey guys i took the lower vac hose off the bbv and plugged the vac fitting on the sensor on the bbv....now thats its blocked couldnt i just take the sensor and hard vac line out and switch the t fitting on the FPR to an L fitting? then when i tune delete the code? no ill effects will be seen from his right?

can this mod result in more knock or no? im knocking so much right now that i dont know it if it had ill results as far as KR....oh well tune time for me....

That is all this mod will do. Add more part throttle knock and kill your mileage. No point at all to do it.

01GTP, you need to understand what he's doing before making comments like that. All he did was take the solenoid out, so the BBV is functioning like normal.

No, this will not cause knock. If the actuator isn't functioning, it could cause some part throttle knock, but it would do that with or without the solenoid.

the only thing this causes is that the PCM cant pull boost when it normally would. you have to tune around that by working with torque management and stuff while youre shifting and what not.

Ok, I thought he was going to take the whole thing off. Now im curious as to why take the solenoid out?

Because it goes bad. And when it goes bad, it kills your boost. And it could be intermittent also. Plus mad burnouts lol.

i have plugged my solenoid also, but what you guys are saying when i get my tuner i will have to tune different because of it?

you have to be weary that when torque management engages that it no longer has the ability to bleed boost. full boost + less fuel = bye bye motor. you have to adjust things accordingly so it doesnt pull fuel when you are still boosting hard.

There are situations where the computer will purposely pull fuel, in diff abuse mode for instance. If that happens under high boost, it could be dangerous. IMO, it's dangerous in a modded car anyway, this doesn't make it that much more.

Edit, thinking about it more, I'm thinking it disables injectors, so it's really not extremely dangerous, but certainly not ideal.

Just curious, have you had first hand experiance? If so, exactly what did yours do? I think mine is causing some boost issues curently. Just curious what you've experianced....

Some times i would get full boost, other times i wouldnt. Immediately i knew it was the problem, it was sticking open allowing boost to enter the bottom side of the diaphragm. Once i disabled it, havent had a problem to this day with it building boost.
