Whats the standard battery volts for a 06 GXP. My battery died recently so I went to discount and bought a new one, turned out the one the guy gave me was the wrong one (battery posts were reversed) I didnt realize this until I was already home and installed the battery. I left the one in the car for 5 days, and that one too died. I went back to discount and they realized they had originally gave me the wrong one. They replaced it and I haven't had any issues in 2 weeks. My questions is, whats the average volts for our car and what effects it to cause them to go up and down? Sometimes when im driving the gauge in the DIC jumps anywhere from mid 12's - mid 13's and other times its high 14's to low 15's. Thanks for any help. Just trying to cover my bases and make sure I wont be replacing a alternator next.
 


you got a bad alternator. time for a new one.

but id not rely totally on the dic. get a battery tester that reads volts on it, see what it reads car off, and car running at idle.

car off no less then 12 volts off the batter, up to 14 at idle. if its bouncing still the alt is bad.
 
Remember these cars have issues with sensor that reads voltage off of the negative cable. As said before get the car tested to verify. Everything is proper
