Battery relocation question - windshield washer tank

I want to relocate the battery to have room for a custom intake, but i was wondering what the heck do i do with the windshield washer tank that's meant to sit on top of the battery? would i need a new one? or is it even worth bothering doing a relocation to begin with? Thanks in advance

ps. move thread if necessary im not great with forums yet.

I don't believe it's necessary to re-locate your battery unless you're just trying to free up space in your engine bay or un-clutter it. Might as well have as much weight as possible on the only two tires that do any work on these cars.

As for the washer tank, I'm not sure if one from a 98+ car will work on your car, but it might be worth a try if you can pick one up cheap enough.

Main reason i want is to free up space. and i also have audio equipment in back which may be easier to connect and reduce interference and have better power to equipment, but if weight is an issue i can reconsider

The weight isn't an issue at all. It just makes more sense to me. But, for audio equipment purposes, it might be a pretty good idea. Just make sure you buy a battery designed to go inside a car's trunk (optima or group 79 battery come to mind).

Well...if it is going by his avatar he is rocking a pre-97 GP and the intake runs to the right side of the engine bay, thus needing to move the battery to make a custom intake IIRC...if not...carry on ;)

yeah also what I'm looking for, my intake filter atm. is right next to the radiator fan, i want cooler air coming in where there is a hole from the stock air box, i want to use the stock air box as a heat shiled and put it where the battery is... so if i can somehow orient the original washer fluid tank the way it is except with intake under it instead of battery, i just couldnt figure out how to rig it and keep it in place, its just very crammed for a K&N filter that i have on it with flexible tubing. realistically i could shorten the tubing but its pretty short as it is :/

I don't know if your car ever sees the strip, but if you plan on going to any NHRA tracks, you'll need an external battery cut-off switch to be able to run.
That is, any track that actually looks the car over in Tech. Plenty of tracks don't give a damn.

most likely i wont see a track, there is 75/80 near me but i'd only go there for fun i dont know how serious they are though
