Battery issues with 2008 GXP

When the car sits for a few days, it will not start. Since I started having problems over the winter, here's the list of what dealer determined the problem to be and the solution....

1) Battery leaking......change battery
2) Positive cable loose......tighten cable
3) Wrong battery......get brand new battery

Car has been sitting for about a week and a half (been trying to save $$ on gas by driving my wife's car since she's out of work and drives a 4-cyl)......decide to drive it today and it won't start.

The last time the dealer had it, they said they can't find anything putting an unusual draw on the battery.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a battery issue. That it is just week. Or if u let it sit for long enough a phone charger or is on. Worse case u have some thing staying on. Light, relay, ect
I have seen a Battery that seemed good, but would dothe same thing. The fact is the batter is probally crap. BUt its good to check and see if any thing is staying on. U could pull the batter for a few days. Then measure Volts 3 days later. Plug it in and see what happens

I had a Battery issue with my 08 GXP as well. 1st) Battery was leaking(The 3rd car with an AC Delco battery that leaked)...Replaced AC Delco Battery with an Optima Red Top, 2nd)Bad Positive cable...I had Both cables replaced.

I had this problem with mine and I replaced the battery and it had been fine ever since. Pontiac could not figure out the problem either. But I get a new alternator and bat. cables :)

I have an GXP that did the same thing 3 weeks ago. Battery was changed and all as well until yesterday. Car sat idle for 15minutes, bells and lights went off stating to service ABS, service brakes, and service traction control. I turned the car off and everything but the service ABS went off. Car has significant power loss. I then let the car sit for an hour and sycled the key. After cycling the key, the battery voltage was checked. Normal when on, yet still drawing a lot of pwer when off. Mmmmm. Drove car home, over a 3 hour drive battery volts would hold at 14.67 and then drop rapidly to 12.67. It did that 3 times over the ride. The volts seems to stay at 14.67 for a significantly shorter period of time with each drop. Any ideas?
