Battery Dead at 6 Months?

OK, I was out for a drive today and stopped at a store. About 20 Min later when trying to start the car, it had absolutely NO power. Could not even unlock the doors with the Key Fob. Had it boosted and the car stayed running, but when shut off again, it would not restart without a boost. Could this be the Battery that is Dead or something else like a Connection issue with the Pos./Neg. Leads?

Going to Canadian Tire and giving them a blast of S#!T of course and ask for an Upgrade to the Performance Battery for my issue as I tried to go to another Canadian Tire for Warranty, and they said the original Store screwed up my Warranty information.

Any Help would be appreciated.

<< And I did check the other posts to see if this was asked already, was not the same issues.>>

Could be dead cells in the battery or it could be the alternator not doing its job of charging the battery. Or it could be your terminals needing to be cleaned.

Those are 3 things you can check. Multimeter on the battery/terminal to check the voltage and then take the battery/alternator to the parts store to get tested.

Wire brush the terminals clean and check the voltage

Calm down

LOL. Thanks. I will be checking all these out. Would the car die if the Alternator was not working though? Or does that depend on if it is just not working well?

if you have a multimeter you can test the alt in the car, test the power at the battery when its running, it should be close to 14 volts.

turn the car off, test it again, it should be at least 12 volts, maybe a bit higher.

The alternator charges the battery. If the alternator doesn't keep the battery charged and you keep driving with the battery taking the hit without being recharged there will not be enough juice to start the car.

Well if there wasn't enough power to even unlock the doors, there's no way the car would run just fine 20 minutes before. There has to be something wrong with the battery or connections to it.

And btw we have been getting a lot of these situations in the past few weeks, there are many other posts just like this. But it's not your fault, the GP forums search isn't very good at finding what you need.

Turns out the whole thing was just a loose connector to the Alternator. Could have been noted when I purchased the New Battery in January! LOL Ah well, only $43 Fix. :)

See and you went ape s**t on the employee about the battery and turns out it wasn't the battery. Classic example on why you should just jump to conclusions before verifying it really is the issue.

LOL, I know. If you knew the situation I am with my family/job, you may see my point of view on any issues with the car and how important the vehicle is to us. Thanks all for the help.

Lmao that's the great thing about the forums will can usually point u in the right direction before you spend any money.
