Weird charging problem...
2003 GP GT 3800
Battery light just above SES/CEL light came on last summer when we drove it for about 175 miles one way. Driving again about the same distance it came on again a couple of days ago. We usually do not drive the car much more than 75 miles on way, so we haven't seen the light since last summer. Now we are 500 miles from home and can barely get 15-20 miles down the road before it comes on again. Anyway....
When the battery light comes on all I have to do is pull over shut the engine off the turn it back on again and the battery charge light stays out...anywhere from 10 miles to 50 miles at about 65-70mph. If I pull over with the engine still running and check the voltage is right at 13.8 volts with the battery light on. I can tell the light is about to come on now as the AC will stop blowing cold then a very short time later the battery light comes on.
