• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

battery cable boondoggle!!

it was green and I'm trying to resolve another issue with the check engine light. See my other thread!!!! Got any ideas on a lean code P0171 that is not caused by a bad MAF, O2, low fuel pressure, or a single vacuum leak anywhere? STFT is at 20 which is what's causing the light to trip but nobody seems to know why!!!

John..

Power goes from the battery to the top of the fuse box and to the starter. You didn't tell me that you went to the transmission stud. If you disconnected a wire off the trans stud, that's the negative cable. This would explain the lack of things working properly. W/o proper grounding you won't get the starter to work.

Yeah what a dummy!!! Two lessons here maybe three, take the time to do things right. If I'd opened the plastic I'd have seen I had the wrong end. (remember we talked about that stud). Two make sure you can see what you are doing, light is a wonderful thing. While we are on the subject, my friend P0171 returned yesterday afternoon!

Took it all apart on Sunday cleaned and sprayed all connections. Changed upstream O2 sensor yesterday. Guess what? STFT was at 0 during idle. remember how it was sitting at about 20? I'll keep you posted
