Hey guys heres my to get list for my '04 impala ss this spring, everything that I will be purchasing will be through zzp, because I have always had good luck with them in the past.

fenderwell intake
zzp tuned pcm
180 tstat
autolite 104's
stainless plog
stainless 3" downpipe w/ cat

I haven't decided yet if I want the 3.4 or the 3.5 module pulley, I just don't want to see a lick of KR, even though theres always a tiny bite. Can I still find the ls1m's forsale anywhere ? That should wake up the old girl. What do you guys think ?

im too lazy to build my own lol. Yeah I figured I'd rather have a 3.5 pulley with no kr then a 3.4 with alittle kr.

Too lazy to build your own?

Buy air filter, put on TB, done. This will be much cheaper, and much easier than installing a fenderwell.

I hate to break the news to you, but that little spinny thingy ontop of the engine makes the air pretty darn hot.

It's your money, buy what you like, and what pleases you. The downsides to the FWI include, but are not limited to: installation complexity, removal complexity, PITA to clean the filter, becomes a cold water intake in deep puddles.
Pros are: Looks good (IMO)

I simply cannot justify having to spend more than 30seconds to remove the air filter.

That is my personal setup. While I would like to put a 4" silicone 45* straight on the TB to clean up the look, I'm plenty happy with this. It's cheap, simple, effective, and easy to work with.

Also, if you don't plan on getting the car tuned, the 3.5" pulley should be the better choice over the 3.4" just to help keep heat and any KR down.

Ohh I know all about the s/c making serious heat. It did however love the -4 degrees outside! I'll reconsider getting the fwi. I did like my wizaired cai but it was expensive. Do you have a write up on yours ? I plan on getting a mail order tune from either intense or overkill not zzp.

Here's the write up. Get 1 foot of 4" flexible pipe, get a 4" ring (or PVC if you must) use 3 band clamps to secure the pipe to the TB, the pipe to the ring, and the filter to the ring. Cut a small hole with a knife and jam the IAT sensor in.

well I got a few other thing's I'll be adding to my list, since I have alittle extra money. I was thinking about getting my s/c ported ? inlet/outlet, and i'll skip the ported t/b since I never noticed anything when I bought a stg 1 from zzp on my gtp. also I was to get a shift improvement kit from intense. if I add the ported s/c could I lower to the 3.4 and be pretty safe from kr or just stick with the 3.5 ? thanks!

I assume I should have both the inlet and outlet done ? Also would it be worth it at all for the money to get a ported tb ? I don't think soo but I'd like other options I just don't want to waste money on stuff that won't really help.
